I love this. Not only is it a brilliant idea it works really well in practice too, with some really fun strategies like being able to drop other pieces through matches. It's also really well polished aesthetically, with fun visual effects and sound.
My favourite LD41 game so far.
That was a fascinating approach to the theme of the Ludum Dare 41 in my opinion! While match-three games and "Connect Four" are mechanically alike, they're still very different from the perspective of their original winning condition - but the mash-up worked very well. :) Too bad that you hadn't any time to include a computer player of some sorts, but hey, it's a jam game, so there isn't always time for such things, right? :) Aesthically pleasing, a great core concept, overall a lovely jam entry. That's why I included it in one of our compilation articles about the jam, along with two other PICO-8-games. <3 It's also featured in the corresponding gameplay video, if somebody wants to have a quick look. :) Keep up the great work!

If you download the itch.io app on your computer, you can save games in it and play them offline
